Byproduct Kantha Blueprint Bag

An expression of Byredo’s engineering approach to making, the latest iteration of the Blueprint bag exists at the intersection of artisanship and design – a considered interplay between heritage craft and modern reinterpretations.

The Kantha Blueprint series showcases adaptive leather and exquisite craftsmanship in diverse, hand-crafted handles.

Reflecting Ben Gorham’s Indian heritage, Byredo reimagines ancestral kantha embroidery with hightech machinery. Irregular stitches on the bag’s front flap symbolize modern technology while honoring traditional techniques. Each bag, a contemporary statement of savoir-faire, is hand-finished by skilled artisans in Byredo’s Italian workshops, where every stitch is cut and knotted individually.

The Kantha Blueprint series exemplifies Byredo's material exploration. Combining Italian calf and lamb leathers, it adapts to the wearer over time. The hand-sculpted handle, detailed meticulously, comes in five variations: birch wood, faux horn, acetate, calfskin, and walnut wood over a brass core.
