‘1996’ was inspired by a photograph of a young girl entitled ‘Kirsten 1996’ taken by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in that year.
The fragrance is a true collaboration in every sense as Creative Director Ben Gorham sought to interpret not only the image itself but the vision and personality of its creators.

Insensatus is a new and exclusive toothpaste created by Ben Gorham of Byredo and Carsten Höller.
It consists of an Activator base toothpaste and three substances that evoke dreams related to the female, male and infantile world. Users can adjust the intensity and outcome of the desired dreams by combining the female, male and infantile toothpastes with the Activator in different quantities.
The toothpaste is presented in an exclusive collector’s box in Nordic Walnut with a hand-painted inside.
The case is featured in a customised vitrine. It is a limited edition of 25, and the first of its kind worldwide
The silk scarves were actually a part of the inspiration for the fragrance Seven Veils that we launched fall of 2011.
The idea to produce a scarf and a limited edition perfume actually came from M/M (Paris) after I created our latest fragrance Seven Veils.
We loved the idea of wearing a perfume as a veil or vice versa so we created a scarf to spray your perfume onto.
M/M (Paris) designed seven different scarves, or veils as we call them giving people a chance to wear the fragrance in a different way."

The fragrance M/MINK is a collaborative effort between Byredo and creative partnership M/M (Paris).
In 2009, reversing the usual idea of receiving a brief from a client, Michaël Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak of M/M (Paris) invited Ben Gorham of Byredo to their studio in Paris and presented him a creative direction and concept — a block of solid ink purchased in Asia, a photograph showing a Japanese master practising his daily calligraphy, and a large utopian formula that Mathias drew on Korean traditional paper. Together with renowned perfumer Jérôme Epinette, Ben translated these three images into a fragrance - a hypnotic composition opening with adoxal, the heart consisting of incense and finally revealing a base of patchouli leaf, clover honey and dark amber. At first it truly smells like ink before giving way to the idea of the creative ink that held together the three images Ben received.
With the launch of Mister Marvelous, Byredo's founder, Ben Gorham, has chosen to highlight a male figure who currently embodies his idea of this fragrance.

BYREDO have created a limited edition box in tribute of Christiaan Houtenbos.
A collection of 200 orange limited edition Mister Marvelous, 100ml Eau de Parfum, were created in tribute of, and signed personally by Christiaan Houtenbos.
This limited edition perfume box is created as an homage to Christiaan’s style and personal approach to creativity.
It bears his initials and is made in orange as you’ll always find him somehow associated to the color orange.
